​Chittenango​

The Village of Chittenango and Town of Sullivan are located in Madison County.  You can find us in the heart of Central New York about 15 miles east of Syracuse. Sullivan.  The population of the Village is around 5,000 while the population of the Town is around 17,000.   

Some of our claims to fame are L Frank Baum the author of the Wizard of Oz was born in Chittenango, and we host a festival each year that draws more than 20,000 visitors to our community for a 3 day festival.  We have one of the only restored dry docks on the Erie Canal which is located at the Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum also located in our Village.

​Dave Mirra, professional BMX bike athlete  dubbed the Miracle boy was from Chittenango.  Dave Mirra was the most decorated X Games contestant with 20 medals, 14 of them gold. Dave competed and medaled in every X-Games event, and dominated the BMX competition scene for over 15 years.
